MIDI Control from 2nd Software

Hi

My school just recently got a D512S and I am trying to find out if you can use MIDI CCs or Sysex to control specific DMX channels (on MacOS) from another application (Max/MSP).

I cannot find a user guide for the new software - and the old software could only trigger scenes and this is far too limited.

Can you please tell me the full MIDI capabilities of V_II ?

I presume the D512S would not work with the Max/MSP externals for other devices?

Can you tell me what messages / code is sent from the Sweetwater software to the USB/DMX interface please?

Thanks

Hello,

You will find the user guide here: viewtopic.php?t=33
Please watch pages 56 to 58 for the midi capabilities.

Yes, D512S does not work with the Max/MSP.

The protocole from our software to our USB to DMX interface is a proprietary protocole. Sorry for that.

OK Thanks.

I'll check the manual and see if I can do anything controlling your software via MIDI from Max.

Cheers

Sorry... just to be clear, you can use MIDI to trigger scenes (plus the master fader), but that is all MIDI can do?

So, no MIDI control of faders for individual lights / channels?

Thanks

Yes, we manage MIDI to trigger the scenes buttons & the master sliders (speed / dimmer) for the live show.
We do not manage MIDI for scene programming.

You can have sliders in the scenes buttons and control them by midi
